Prairie Interiors

Prairie style architecture evolved from the handcrafted, meticulous design and construction prevalent during the earliest years of the 20th century. The style is usually marked by horizontal lines, flat or hipped roofs with broad overhanging eaves, windows grouped in horizontal bands, integration with the landscape, solid construction, craftsmanship and discipline in the use of ornament. Moving away from the bungalow style per se, the Prairie style plays on Midwest regional influences and incorporates stylized Japanese elements.
